The Met Gala 2025 has once again confirmed itself as the most anticipated fashion event of the year, and this year the red carpet has been transformed into a real catwalk of art, creativity, and beauty audacity.
The clothes worn by the many celebrities present played a leading role, but the makeup was certainly not far behind. Also because the beauty looks of the Met Gala 2025 gave us really cool inspirations.
If the theme of the evening “Time Echoes: Fashion Through the Ages” inspired spectacular dresses, the makeup was no different, giving a visual spectacle that mixed eras, textures, and colors in a surprising way.
The best thing is that we had confirmation of how much natural makeup is trendy.
The Met Gala 2025 was dominated by stylistic choices that could be replicated in everyday life: cat eyes, false eyelashes, defined, but substantially thin eyeliner, glow lips, colored cheeks.
Healthy-looking, radiant, blemish-free skin; The base is becoming more important than the makeup itself.
Zendaya bewitched us with fairy makeup: lilac shadows, architectural eyelashes and mother-of-pearl lips: a goddess. Her eye makeup, curated by Sheika Daley, mixed lilac eyeshadow and metallic touches with floating eyelashes inspired by Mucha's floral designs.
The face was sculpted to perfection, with a soft contour and a touch of peach blush that gave three-dimensionality without weighing it down.
Glossy lips with a mother-of-pearl reflection completed the look. Although Charlotte Tilbury's Super Nudes collection launched last week, several stars were already wearing the newly released products on the red carpet of the Met Gala 2025 on Monday.
Zendaya paired her all-white Louis Vuitton look with a Tilbury all-out look, including the new Lip Cheat Contour Duo in Tan. For added sparkle, the 'Euphoria' star completed her contrasting '90s-style lip look with the new Big Lip Plumpgasm Gloss in Nudegasm Diamonds, a shimmering formula inspired by the way diamonds are reflected.
Doja Cat out of the box: mirror-effect skin, bleached eyebrows and silver mask that covered half of her face, made with metallic pigments and rhinestones.
Shocking and hypnotic, always provocative, Doja Cat has staked everything on a scenographic makeup that seemed to come from the future. The beauty look winked at both science fiction and Egyptian gods, bringing an alien and hypnotic aesthetic to the stage.
Doja Cat's hairstyle at the 2025 Met Gala was an ode to textures and the 80s
For her third Met Gala, Doja Cat sported layered ottomans, contrasting makeup and a '80s blazer for an electrifying look. Already in recent weeks she had shown off references to the 80s: from high hairstyles à la Grace Jones to red nails and lipsticks, bringing her beauty halfway between the feminine and the masculine (think Prince).
Doja's look was a conceptual reimagining: layering multiple hair patterns to create a strong, sculptural form that celebrated beauty in complexity.
It wasn't about putting makeup on the hair, but about building something that had weight and that whispered a tradition.

“For Doja's look, we wanted to convey the surreal elegance of a hand-drawn sketch, something animated and architectural at the same time,” says makeup artist Pat McGrath.
With a wing of eyeliner and pastel blue eyelids taken from Pat McGrath Labs' Mothership XII: Petalmorphosis, the makeup was a nod to the '40s and '50s, dating back more or less to the very first Met Gala in 1948. The look was completed with a deep cabernet red lipstick, designed with the Dramatique Mega Lip Pencil.
Lana Del Rey enchanted with a look that looked like it came out of a Pre-Raphaelite painting. He brought back dark romanticism: dramatic eyes, burgundy lips and porcelain skin. Absolute Gothic queen.
Two-layered eyes with black kajal and bronze shades, accompanied by a matte burgundy lipstick and diaphanous skin, created a romantic and dramatic effect at the same time.
The makeup took up the tones of her midnight blue velvet dress and consecrated her as the gothic muse of the evening.
At the 2025 Met Gala, there was a lot of talk about reptiles, and love in general. Lana Del Rey chose to pay homage with a pair of golden crocodile-shaped hairpins. Del Rey's beauty look was taken care of down to the smallest detail, as much as her outfit.
The star's hair, created by the stars' stylist Anna Cofone, featured a series of expertly placed curls, styled in a red carpet-worthy updo, with delicate but impactful makeup.
“Lana's look embodies the elegance of African-American dandyism and an homage to 50s glamour,” says the star's makeup artist, Pamela Cochrane.
To evoke the glamour of old Hollywood, Cochrane and his team used a range of Anastasia Beverly Hills' palettes, pencils and lip glosses, such as the Impeccable Blurring Second Skin matte foundation. They also used the Lip Velvet liquid lipstick in the shade Pink Sand.

Between tributes to the past and visions of the future, beauty stole the show with elegance, power, and lots and lots of creativity. The Met Gala is not just fashion: it is entertainment, art, vision. And this year, makeup has literally stolen the show.
